Equipping the Community Organization is driven by a deep passion for connecting individuals and families with the resources they need to thrive. We take a person-centered approach, recognizing and building upon the unique strengths and priorities of each individual or family.

We understand that challenges can arise, and during those times, having guidance and support can make all the difference. Our mission is to assist in the navigation process, ensuring that individuals and families can access the essential resources they need to continue growing and thriving.

 

About the Executive Director

Rose Brake Lewis, a native of Nash County, NC, brings a wealth of experience across multiple disciplines, including social work, education, criminal justice, and mental health. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Shaw University and has pursued graduate studies in Public Administration at Strayer University as well as Christian Education at Shaw Divinity School.

Her professional journey spans working with individuals from infancy to older adulthood. She has served in early childhood education, afterschool and summer camp programs, the Department of Corrections, mental health services, and older adult care. Her expertise includes supporting families navigating stress, trauma, and resilience-building.

Rose holds several certifications, including:

  • Jobs for Life Facilitator 
  • Community Resiliency Training (Trauma Resource Institute)
  • Apprenticeship Certificate in Healing the Wounds of the Heart (World Impact)

Her dedication to community service and holistic care continues to drive her leadership and advocacy efforts.
